In 1951, Wolf began as a small drilling and pump service company near Abernathy, Texas. At the time, irrigation was just beginning to take hold across West Texas. It was an opportunity, but also a challenge.
The region’s water conditions were among the most abrasive in the country. Instead of working around the problem, Wolf leaned into it.
After several years in the field, the company recognized a growing need. Pumps had to perform better. They needed to be more efficient, more durable, and capable of adapting to shifting water tables and demanding applications. That realization marked a turning point.
It was the beginning of Wolf Pumps as we know it today. 75 years later, and we are still at the forefront of innovation.
Engineering for the Toughest Conditions
What started as a service company evolved into a manufacturer built around solving real-world problems.
Today, Wolf operates with over 37,000 square feet of manufacturing space and more than 4,000 square feet of office space. With the acquisition of Robco Pumps in 2020, the company significantly expanded its capabilities, growing its pump line from 1,500 to 6,000 gallons per minute across both submersible and vertical line shaft turbines.
That growth wasn’t just about scale. It was about precision.
Wolf’s machining capabilities now include a full suite of CNC equipment, engine lathes, and mills, allowing for tighter tolerances and greater control at every stage of production.
